This HO Scale N&W Class A 2-6-6-4 from Broadway Limited is based on locomotives delivered to the Norfolk and Western. Four groups were erected between 1936 and 1950, with some improvements in each group. A group of 25 locomotives were built in 1943 and 1944. The group was numbered from #1210 to #1234 and #1218 is the lone survivor today. This detailed model features a full Paragon3 sound and DCC for realistic sound and motor control complete with back EMF for smooth slow speeds. The Paragon3 sound system works with all Broadway Limited Rolling Thunder (TM) advanced sound systems. Other features include a heavy die cast and brass body and chassis; smooth-running drive, applied details; directional warm white LED lighting and magnetic knuckle couplers. The HO Scale N&W Class A 2-6-6-4 can be operated on all DCC systems as well as on standard DC railroads (with limited sound functionality). This model has wheels profiled to operate on Code 70 and larger rail and curves of 18" radius or larger are recommended. The detailed steam locomotive comes in multiple road numbers for each railroad as appropriate
